Spring Docent Update

Share to:

Volunteers have been very busy this spring with special events and training! A new class of 15 Lily Pool docents graduated in May after seven intensive weeks of onsite training as well as reading, studying, and preparing a final project. We’re so excited to welcome them and please be sure to stop by the Lily Pool on weekends from 11am-2pm to say hello! We also have 16 current and new volunteers training or refreshing to be Wildflower Walk guides. We appreciate their dedication and enthusiasm and hope to make the Conservancy a welcoming and fun space for all our guests and volunteers.

This summer, our volunteers will have many opportunities to engage with guests at the Conservatory and Lily Pool, as well as on our Wildflower Walks, private group tours, and our special Summer Food Tour Series that we’re reintroducing after a long pandemic hiatus. Guests at the Conservatory can also participate in self-directed scavenger hunts and soon, a self-guided meditation in the Fern Room, all thanks to the creativity and talents of our docents. We couldn’t offer such a wide range of dynamic programs for our guests without the help of our (drum roll, please) 91 awesome docents, greeters, and guides!

We also have several fun continuous learning and social activities planned for our volunteers this summer and, believe it or not, will begin recruiting new docents again in August for our fall Conservatory docent training. Email Amelia Pollock with questions.
