Caring for the Park in Winter

It’s that time of year again when we hunker down indoors; the Icelandic have a word for this: gluggaveður – weather best enjoyed indoors. We at the Conservancy had hoped we could host a few volunteer workdays on a few of those unseasonably warm winter days, but we’re unfortunately still waiting for one. In the meantime, our field staff are hard at work keeping the park clean and in good condition: removing graffiti, picking up litter, reporting major problems to the Park District. But you, our supporters and park guests, are our eyes and ears in the Park every day. Please let us know of damaged park features so we can appropriately address them.
While we’re all stuck indoors, please support our triple match grant support from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation. They are matching all donations made to the North Pond restoration through this link or by check (with a note mentioning the match) up to $21,000. Show your support and give today!
