The Shops at North Bridge and 2d Restaurant have partnered to launch the Chairity Project! Ten Chicago-based artists and content creators have transformed signature 2d chairs into original works of art inspired by the theme, “A Moment of Joy.” All the chairs are going up for auction, with the proceeds going towards local nonprofits. Cheri Lee Charlton, who recently finished the amazing mural under the LaSalle underpass, has painted one, with all of the proceeds going to the Lincoln Park Conservancy.
On February 5, the Shops at North Bridge will be holding a unique event, where guests can view and learn about the chairs up for auction, meet the artists, and bid on a one-of-a-kind chair. Even if you are unable to attend in person, you can still place bids from wherever you are. You can learn more about the event and reserve a free spot below.
About the Artist
Cheri Lee Charlton is a Chicago-based illustrator, muralist, and educator with an MFA in Painting from Ohio University. She has over 15 years of teaching experience, most recently in Columbia College Chicago’s Illustration Department. Her work has been commissioned by Girl Scouts of the USA, Colectivo Coffee, Chicago Fire FC, NEWCITY, BLICK Art Materials, Gino’s, The Neighborhood Hotel, Rainbow Cone, and The Violet Hour.
In 2021, Charlton was commissioned by the American Consulate and Chicago Sister Cities International to design and paint a large-scale mural in Casablanca, Morocco, commemorating 200 years of U.S.–Morocco relations.
