Terms & Conditions

1. Tax-Exempt Status & General Mission Use
The Lincoln Park Conservancy is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (FEIN #36-3320423). Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by United States federal and state law. Unless explicitly restricted by a prior, formal mutual written agreement, all online donations are designated as unrestricted funds to support the organization’s overarching mission to maintain, enhance, and protect Lincoln
Park’s ecological and historic landscapes.

2. Non-Refundability and Processing Finality
All online transactions, single or recurring, are final, absolute, and non-refundable once successfully processed. By completing a submission, you acknowledge that the organization immediately allocates received funds toward active conservation programs and operational dependencies.

3. Voluntary Allocation of Processing Fees
When initiating an online donation, the platform provides an optional selection to “cover credit card processing fees.” If selected, this incremental amount is entirely voluntary and is processed as an additional tax-deductible contribution to the Lincoln Park Conservancy. This selection helps ensure that 100% of your baseline intended gift directly funds park operations. If you opt out of covering processing fees, standard third-party transactional rates (e.g., credit card merchant or ACH bank fees) will be deducted from your gross transaction amount prior to organizational allocation.

4. Recurring Monthly Donation Authorization
By opting into a monthly recurring donation schedule, you grant the Lincoln Park Conservancy automatic, ongoing authorization to securely charge your designated credit card or bank routing profile on or about the same day each month.

  • Automatic Renewal: Your monthly donation commitment will renew automatically indefinitely until actively modified or terminated.
  • Cancellation Protocol: You maintain full control over your recurring gift profile. To pause, alter, or permanently cancel automated transactions, you must provide written or electronic notification to the Lincoln Park Conservancy at least three (3) business days prior to your next scheduled billing date.
  • Notification Channels: Cancellation requests can be processed securely inside your active Member Portal, submitted via email to info@lincolnparkconservancy.org, or reported via phone at (773) 883-7275.

5. Corporate Matching Gifts
Donors are highly encouraged to leverage employer-sponsored corporate matching gift frameworks. While the individual donor is responsible for initiating the matching request through their respective corporate HR platform, the matching allocation is legally treated as a distinct institutional grant. Corporate matching funds will default completely to unrestricted general operating funds, even if the employee’s underlying individual gift was assigned to a niche focus area, unless corporate matching terms mandate otherwise. Tax substantiation receipts for the matching portion are issued directly to the contributing business entity, not the individual donor.

6. Privacy and Data Security Assurance
The Lincoln Park Conservancy is strictly committed to donor privacy. In alignment with our official Privacy Policy, the organization will not sell, share, or trade our donors’ names, contact details, or personal data with any external commercial or non-commercial entity. Furthermore, we do not issue generic mailings or solicitations to our donors on behalf of separate third-party organizations.
This explicit security standard covers all transactional and profile data collected online, offline, or through secure third-party payment processors. Third-party transaction partners are bound by strict service-level configurations limiting data usage exclusively to the functions necessary for transaction clearance. The full scope of our data protections can be inspected directly on the official Lincoln Park Conservancy Privacy Policy
Page.

7. Legal Jurisdiction & Dispute Resolution
These Online Donation Terms and Conditions shall be interpreted, construed, and legally governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any legal claims, disputes, or administrative actions arising out of or directly relating to online transaction processing, recurring donation billing, or data management must be filed and adjudicated exclusively in the state or federal courts located within Cook County, Illinois.
